A fool and his money are soon parted. So April 1st seemed like an appropriate day to kick off the FatCratz experiment in earnest.
In my experience, government employees are the richest repository of stories illustrating government incompetence: fraud, waste, abuse, plain old bureaucratic bungling.
Further, many of these stories are so over the top that they are hilarious... as well as being a little bit sad. After all, it is our money.
The open question is, will they talk? Will you talk? After all, what government employee would feed a stereotype by impugning their own colleagues and the high calling of government service? That is, other than the honest ones who take their little slice of the public trust seriously and are disgusted by those who don't.
My hunch is that under the cover of anonymity, enough of them will to make it worth my time to collect their musings for our education and entertainment. At least enough so the rest of us will come back from time to time to be amused.
After all, we're about to be parted from a lot of money. We are better off if we know what it's paying for.
